Paul Griffin - Chairman
Paul Griffin is an experienced leader and manager with over 33 years’ oil and gas industry experience gained in a diverse range of geographical locations across Europe, North America, Africa, Middle East and South East Asia. Prior to establishing Goodwyn Energy, his previous role was as Managing Director for the UK business of Dana Petroleum plc.
He has broad management experience across a range of companies from national and integrated oil companies to small start-up organisations. Most of his career has been in the independent sector mainly with Enterprise Oil where he held various technical and managerial positions up to Vice President Onshore and OIM Offshore.
Paul has a proven track record for building, transforming and turning around businesses and organisations and for the delivery of major projects on time and within budget. He has been responsible for up to 500 personnel (onshore and offshore) and has held annual budgetary responsibility in excess of $1.3 billion.
In addition to establishing Goodwyn Energy, Paul is also a Director of the North East Scotland division of the Bauer Media national charity Cash for Kids.
Munther Akroush- Vice-Chairman
Munther Akroush has more than 33 years’ diversified experience of the mechanical, petroleum, construction and energy sectors. Following a successful commercial career, Munther spent 17 years in Natural resources Authority, his last post was Assistant Director General of Jordan’s (NRA) in Amman which lasted for 5 years. During these years, he participated in national working groups on major national projects such as "the National Agenda” and “the National Strategy for the Energy Sector."
A qualified Mechanical Engineer, Munther also holds a Master’s degree in Economics from Califonia Polytechnic State University
Chris Nurse - Group Chief Executive
Chris Nurse studied law at Oxford University prior to joining the London practice of accountants Price Waterhouse where he qualified as a Chartered Accountant and specialised in natural resources industries. In 1989 Chris set up his own independent consultancy practice advising clients on mining law policy and the legal and financial aspects of due diligence for investment. He has worked on a large number of major corporate restructures, regulatory reform projects, legal and privatisation studies and lent his technical expertise to strengthen legislative controls.
He is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales and a Member of the Energy Institute.
John Fraser - Operations Director of KIO
John Fraser joined Karak International Oil after a successful 15-year career at Huntsman during which he was responsible for managing process and engineering teams of over 100 people, leading manufacturing activity and driving continuous improvement in plant performance. This was followed by 5 years experience in developing new markets for co-products and commercial sales in a commodity pricing environment. Consequently, he brings a wealth of technical knowledge and practical experience of complex industrial processes combined with sound commercial skills.
John is a Chartered Engineer who holds an Honours degree in Chemical Engineering from Edinburgh University and an MBA from Durham University.
